Perlin Noise

Continued explorations in processing and particle motion. Today I focused on types of movement of particles rather than the life of them. After doing a little research, I rediscovered "perlin noise". This is a set of algorithms that has many applications, on of which is the use of creating organic motion. By applying these algorithms to a particle, it gives the particle a random, yet very beautiful and organic movement.

The work that stands out the most to me, especially for the type of aesthetic that I'm going for, is the work of Rob Hodgins and this guy who calls himself Toxi. The music video work of Flight404 is simply amazing.

OTHER EXAMPLES OF MOTION:
Flowy creature
Liquid
Magnets
Splish
Particles
Relations
Circulation
